How best to determine seating capacity

Have you ever wondered how to figure out how many tables you can fit into your venue?  A good guide line is to start with what type of table you are looking for, round or oblong.  Oblong tables take up less floor space than rounds; however some people prefer rounds because it is easier for all guests at the table to talk to one another.

After determining the style table you want you will need to find the area of the room then divide that number by eight (if using oblong tables) or ten (if using round tables).  This will give you the maximum seating for that room.  If you would like to allow for a more comfortable seating plan allow for an additional two square feet per person.
