The chiavari chair is named after the coastal town of Chiavari, Italy where it originates from. It was designed by Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi in 1807. These chairs have become the go-to for weddings or formal events, in part thanks to the Kennedy's using them for their 900-guest wedding in 1953. |
