6 Decorating Tips To Achieve a Fantastic Thanksgiving 'Tablescape' Your Neighbors Will Envy.

1. Colors (Think outside the box)

One could never go wrong with the traditional Thanksgiving colors of orange or brown, but try expanding the palette with the warm colors of autumn. Envision the colors of leaves, berries, barks and dark blue autumn skies which include, byzantine gold, burgundy, cardinal red, khaki, chocolate brown, pacifica blue and turquoise. All of these colors compliment each other. You cannot go wrong getting your inspiration from a beautiful autumn day.

2. Bring The Outside In

Gourds, small pumpkins, berries and twigs will add a harvest feel to your Thanksgiving table. If you have a larger table you could create or buy a fresh floral centerpiece from your community florist. Be inventive and save money by using an elegant container you already own such as a favorite dish or bowl. The container we utilized for our floral centerpiece is an elegant, brass serving bowl.

3. It’s All In The Mixup

When placing decorative pieces around your table, remember that mixing tall and short pieces together will add visual interest and compliment each other. For example, pair tall glasses and candles together with small gold encrusted votives like we did for our Thanksgiving table setting. Another way to create visual interest is to mix different textural elements together. For our table, we mix the elements of wood, burlap, and iridescent crush fabric
together.

4. This Ain’t Your Mama’s Linen

Today linen comes in all colors, so don't be afraid to experiment. For our table we selected the colors of Khaki for our napkin fold and pacifica blue for our chairs. Today you are also not limited to linen either, Grand Rental Station in Fairview has many options when it comes to table runner selections.  Sequins, iridescent crush, burlap, etc… the possibilities are endless. For our table, we have paired sunset orange crush, pacifica blue linen and gold sequins together to add elegance with a hint of sparkle.

5. It’s All In The Details

Make a statement by adding some finishing touches to your Thanksgiving ’tablescape’. First, by creating a napkin fold with flair. On our table, we have used the Rose Napkin fold. But there are an array of napkin folds to use such as, the Turkey fold or the Oriental fold. We have videos of napkin fold tutorials on our Facebook page or just stop by Grand Rental Station in Fairview for a quick lesson; we are happy to help. Secondly, don’t forget to add a little flair to your chairs with a specialty chair tie. For our gold Chiavari chairs, we have paired a pacifica blue table runner with a sunset orange iridescent chair tie looped over the back with a simple knot that enhances the chair and brings together the whole look of our Thanksgiving table setting.

6. Save Money & Hassle With Renting

Rented items don’t need to be stored at your house and renting allows you to bring in larger pieces that may not work with your daily decor. Save time and hassle by being able to pick up your event items clean, linens pressed and everything ready to set your table. Renting also affords you the opportunity to create new and exciting combinations for each event that you host at the fraction of the cost of buying. This allows you to keep up with new trends and colors with minimal investment. Call Grand Rental Station today to create a warm and inviting Thanksgiving table setting your  whole family will be thankful for.
